OMHOF to host Thursday night Live at the Frisco Depot featuring “And Then There Were Two”

Muskogee, Okla. – The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame will host “And Then There Were Two” on Thursday, July 20th at 8 pm at the Frisco Depot, 401 S. 3rd in Muskogee.

And Then There Were Two came together in August of 2015. Austin and Amy were seated at a table and there was a guy playing on the stage. He was playing Here Comes the Sun. At the same time, they began to sing along. Each landing on a separate harmony part, their voices locked – it was beautiful. A couple of weeks later Austin joined Amy in her studio and they wrote their first song – like they had worked together for years. Chad Varnell, one of Austin’s long time friends and band mates, came to their first showcase. Up until then Austin and Amy had insisted on keeping it an acoustic duo, as their combined full band experiences had left them rather jaded. Amy was fairly adamant about not adding anyone but Austin insisted that they needed Chad not only because he is an outstanding drummer and percussionist but an incredibly kind, generous and easygoing human being. She agreed to give it a try so Chad joined them on stage with his trejon at the next showcase. That sealed the deal. So two became three and now they feel naked without him.

“Writing and performing allows us to pull back the veil giving people the opportunity to see our deepest and most private experiences, emotions, fears, insecurities, hopes, dreams and joys and it extends them a chance to share in that or relate it to their own experiences. When you share something that deep it creates a profound energy that moves through the music, transferring from the audience to you to the audience and back again and besides, it’s a lot more fun than sitting on someone’s couch talking about yourself while they scribble on a clipboard.”

Doors open at 7:30, show starts at 8 pm. Admission is $5 and all ages are welcome!
